IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Data Analytics (HPDA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Quantum Computing (QC) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ more than 150 scientific, technical, and administrative staff. At present, IT4Innovations is running two supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s, installed in the summer of 2021) and Barbora (849 TFlop/s, installed in the autumn of 2019), and is a member of the consortium operating LUMI, one of Europe's most powerful supercomputers. IT4Innovations also operates the first Czech quantum computer named VLQ.

We seek a

PostDoc – AI research

for Advanced Data Analysis and Simulations Lab             

                        

Activity description:                

We are extending our team with a new position to drive research in the field of AI/ML. Our lab is currently working on multiple topics in AI including image and time series analysis, LLMs, agentic modelling, RAGs, MCPs, AI quality assurance, MLOps. Complementary to research activities we are providing support services for companies which want to implement AI solutions.                    

  • development of new AI enabled tools,       
  • optimization of training and inference pipelines for AI models,
  • support companies with their AI needs through AI factories,     
  • collaborate with a well established group of developers and researchers creating highly innovative platforms that make life easier for other scientists as well as industry.     

                              

Full time equivalent: 1,0

Type of job contract: fixed-term employment

Expected start of employment: 1. 1. 2026 or as agreed

We require:                    

  • minimum Ph.D.  in computer science, 
  • required experience:
  1. knowledge of AI libraries such as PyTorch, LangChain, YOLO, Whisper,      
  2. proven scientific record in AI modelling,            
  3. broad knowledge of models and trends in the  AI community,            
  4. at least basic experience working with CLI,      
  • experience with the following technologies is an advantage:
  1. experience with High Performance Computing systems,       
  2. experience with MLOps tools such as MLFlow or DVC,             
  • will to work in an international environment which requires good communication skills in the English language both spoken and written,              
  • ability to learn new technologies and to work in a dynamic research environment.
