As of January 2022, the operation of IT4Innovations' infrastructure will be curtailed due to a significant increase in the price of electricity caused by the bankruptcy of the electricity supplier.

IT4Innovations found itself in a situation where, without a major reduction in the operation of the infrastructure, most of the annual electricity budget would have been exhausted in just a few weeks.

Therefore, in January, approximately 2/3 of IT4Innovations' computing and data resources were suspended, which allowed only necessary operations to be ensured, without jeopardising the agreed terms and conditions with, for example, EuroHPC JU (35% of capacity) or other contractual partners.

This limited operation lasted until 4 February, when the power supply from the new supplier started. The new electricity price allows us to free up additional computing resource capacity to cover the ongoing projects of our users. However, it is still not possible to run the infrastructure at full capacity without further increases in the electricity budget. In this respect, we are making considerable efforts to make all our available computing and data resources available again as soon as possible.
