IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Data Analytics (HPDA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Quantum Computing (QC) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ more than 200 scientific, technical, and administrative staff. At present, IT4Innovations is running two supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s, installed in the summer of 2021), Barbora (849 TFlop/s, installed in the autumn of 2019), and is a member of the consortium operating LUMI, one of Europe's most powerful supercomputers. Researcher - ML/CV

for Infrastructure Research Laboratory

                            

Activity description:                

  • conduct research in machine learning with emphasis on computer vision,
  • develop and evaluate novel algorithms for visual data analysis,
  • work with real/synthetic datasets and design data processing pipelines,
  • integrate the developed algorithms into a comprehensive, functional software applications,
  • test and optimize the developed software,
  • work in the team under national and international projects,
  • collaborate on publication activities of research outcomes.

                              

Full time equivalent: 1,0 - 0,5

Type of job contract: fixed-term employment

Expected start of employment: 1. 5. 2026 or as agreed

                              

We require:                    

  • university education in IT or a related field, min. required degree Ms. at the time of recruitment, Ph.D. is an advantage,     
  • practice min. 1 year in developing and implementing computer vision or image processing algorithms,     
  • proficiency in Python (and optionally C/C++),
  • familiarity with image/video processing, or multimodal data,  
  • ability to read and implement research papers,  
  • experience with the Git version control system,
  • experience with Linux operating systems and working in Bash,
  • willingness to continue learning and work in a team,    
  • strong communication skills,            
  • active knowledge of the English language.             

                              

Candidate advantage: 

  • experience with real-time computer vision systems or edge deployment,
  • knowledge of GPU computing and large-scale training,        
  • experience working in an HPC environment,      
  • experience with data annotation pipelines or synthetic data generation.
