IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Quantum Computing (QC), Data Analytics (HPDA), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ about 200 scientific, technical, and administrative staff. At present, IT4Innovations is running two supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s) and Barbora (849 TFlop/s). IT4I is part of the consortium that operates Europe's largest supercomputer, LUMI, and provides its computing capacity to scientists from EuroHPC member states. A LUMI-Q quantum computer is planned for 2024. Research Assistant for the Advanced Data Analysis and Simulations Lab                     

for project REFRESH - Research Excellence For REgion Sustainability and High-tech Industries (CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000048), research program 3 - Research in the field of digitalization and transformation of the energy in the position of Junior researcher II EL (M)   

                              

Activity description:                      

· work in a research team focusing on applications of mathematics in the field of digitalization and transformation of the energy sector,  

· conducting research and publishing  under the guidance of excellent researchers and senior researchers,          

· contributing to the preparation of national or international projects,   

· continuously improving his/her qualification,  

· contributing to the cooperation with partner institutions.         

                              

Full-time equivalent: part-time employment, 50 %

Type of job contract: fixed-term employment

Expected start of employment: as agreed

Number of free positions: 3

                              

We require:                       

· Master's degree in mathematics or related disciplines,   

· knowledge of numerical methods used for solving PDEs,           

· knowledge of numerical optimisation and statistics,    

· experience with programming in Python and C is an advantage,             

· willingness to further educate yourself and work in a team,      

· experience in cooperation with international teams is an advantage,   

· active knowledge of the English language.
