Have you ever been to a place where the spirit of the industrial past creates an unforgettable atmosphere? Visit Ostrava, an exciting city full of unique and active industrial heritage. The historic industrial complexes were revitalized and transformed into new leisure, entertainment, and educational zones like Dolni Vitkovice and Landek Park. There is no other place where you can visit a castle whose whole structure sank 16 meters into the ground because of coal mining. This is the case of the Silesian Ostrava Castle, which is today reconstructed and opened to the public. Look at the green city from the highest City Hall Viewing Tower in the Czech Republic.

Travelling by train
The City of Ostrava has two main train stations, “Ostrava hlavni nadrazi" and “Ostrava-Svinov”. High-speed and international trains stop at both.
- From Prague – Direct high-speed trains connect Prague (Main Station/Hlavni nadrazi) with Ostrava (Ostrava-Svinov Station and Main Station/Ostrava Hlavni nadrazi); the travel takes about 3 hours.
- From Vienna
EuroCity trains connect Vienna with Ostrava; the travel takes about 3 hours.
- From Katowice
EuroCity trains connect Katowice with Ostrava; the travel takes about 2 hours.
- From Krakow
EuroCity trains connect Krakow with Ostrava; the travel takes about 4 hours.
- From Warsaw
EuroCity trains connect Warsaw with Ostrava; the travel takes about 4½ hours.

Travelling by car

Public transport
Ostrava offers a vast public transport network: buses, trams, and trolleybuses. You can pay the public transport fare simply by attaching your bank card when you board the vehicle.
The other option is to use taxi companies. We recommend the following TAXIs: CCT Taxi, City Taxi Ostrava, or CB Taxi Ostrava.

Public transport
There are two tram stations called “VSB-TUO“ and “Hlavni trida“. Trams No. 5, 7, 8, and 17 stop there.
There is also the “VSB-TUO“ bus station where buses No. 47 and 75 stop, and the “Poruba U Nemocnice“ bus station where buses No. 20, 47, 54, 58, and 75 stop.
The “Studentska“and “Studentske koleje” bus stations, closest to IT4Innovations, are serviced by buses No. 20, 37, and 54.
