Date:

5pm to 10pm / online

This year's Researchers' Night with the headline A Man and a Robot will take place on Friday, November 27.

Science can be mysterious, inaccessible, complicated. Nevertheless, Researchers' Night is here together with our scientists to show you the inspiring, fascinating, and playful environment of science. Researchers' Night is a nationwide science popularization event bringing all people together to experience the inspiring scientific environment. Visitors play, learn, try, and strive to understand and discover this fascinating world.

Through online lectures, our colleagues will introduce you to some of the topics that our supercomputer center deals with. Children and adults will enjoy themselves.

ROBOT SOCCER

Václav Svatoň
Focused on the dynamic, yet unstable environment for collaborating agents/robots, robot soccer (robot football) is a constantly developing area of science. It joins various seemingly incompatible areas such as research into multi-agent systems, real-time camera images processing, controlling of individual robots, avoiding obstacles, route planning and mutual cooperation of robots in the playing field. Not infrequently, methods of machine learning are also applied.
Both robot and human soccer (football) aim for prevailing over opponents by scoring more goals. However, to achieve victory, the team have to cooperate, adapt and react. But this is far from easy, since the opponents aims for the same goal.
