The HPCTRAIN project, with IT4Innovations as its partner, has launched its first call for professional internships in high-performance computing (HPC). The programme offers students, graduates, and early-career professionals the opportunity to gain valuable experience at leading European supercomputing centres, universities, and research organisations.
For the period of three to six months, programme participants will implement real-world projects under the supervision of experienced mentors. They will be involved in areas such as supercomputer operations, software development, scientific computing, artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and advanced computing software development. The programme is dedicated to developing practical skills and supporting the professional growth of next-generation HPC specialists.
Simultaneously, a call for new host organisations has also been announced. Supercomputing centres, universities, research organisations, public institutions, companies, SMEs, and startups that can offer high-quality professional internships focused primarily on HPC are eligible to join. While internships may also cover topics in AI and quantum technologies, HPC must remain the core focus.
As the network of host organisations expands, new opportunities for internship applicants will continue to arise. The HPCTRAIN project bridges education with application, contributing to the preparation of a new generation of experts who will drive the development of the European HPC ecosystem.
The current internship opportunities, application requirements, and information for prospective host organisations can be found on the HPCTRAIN project website:
