EVITA launches a Call for Modular Training Materials and a Call for External Reviewers, inviting the European HPC community to contribute to the development of a unified, high-quality training ecosystem.
The EuroHPC Virtual Training Academy (EVITA), which aims to enhance education in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence across Europe and in which IT4Innovations is a partner, has officially launched two open calls under its cascade funding scheme.
The Call for Modular Training Materials is open until 7 September 2026, and the Call for External Reviewers until 16 July 2026, and are directed at training providers, researchers, HPC experts, and independent evaluators across Europe.
Call for Modular Training Materials
The objective of this call is to fund the development of modular training courses for the EVITA Training Platform. Proposals must align with the EVITA Competence and Qualification Framework (CQF), which defines the skills and qualification standards needed across the HPC landscape. Funding is provided per module, with a focus
on high-quality, reusable training materials that address key HPC skills needs and can reach learners across Europe.
The call is open to training providers, research centres, universities, and HPC experts established in EU Member States or countries associated with the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. Submitted proposals will be evaluated by a pool of independent external reviewers selected through the parallel Call for External Reviewers.
Timeline
Submission deadline: 7 September 2026
Evaluation period: September – November 2026
Results: November 2026
Call for External Reviewers
EVITA is establishing a pool of qualified independent experts to assess proposals submitted under the Call for Modular Training Materials. The call for reviewers is designed to ensure a fair, transparent, and high-quality evaluation process. Selected reviewers will assess submitted proposals and contribute to the selection of training materials to be integrated into the EVITA platform.
Timeline
Application deadline: 16 July 2026
Evaluation of applications: July 2026
Results and onboarding: July – September 2026
Full documentation, eligibility criteria, and submission forms for both calls are available on the EVITA website HERE, where you can also submit your proposal.
These calls represent a key milestone in the development of the EVITA project, and its standardised, modular training framework for High-Performance Computing (HPC) and emerging technologies across Europe.
Funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking under Grant Agreement No. 101196394, EVITA is coordinated by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and brings together eight leading European institutions, including Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG) (Germany), IT4Innovations at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava (IT4I@VSB) (Czech Republic), Linköping University (LiU) (Sweden), Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi) (Italy), Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien) (Austria), Université du Luxembourg (Luxembourg), and the High-Performance Computing Center (HLRS) of the University of Stuttgart (USTUTT) (Germany).
