In June 2026, meetings of the Industrial and Scientific Advisory Board of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) – which consists of three main advisory bodies — were held in Luxembourg. The meeting included elections for the leadership of the Research and Innovation Advisory Group (RIAG) and the Infrastructure Advisory Group (INFRAG), and a new advisory group, the Quantum Technologies Advisory Group (QTAG), was established.
Jan Martinovič of IT4Innovations, which is part of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, was elected vice-chair of the RIAG advisory group. He will serve a two-year term.
RIAG provides expert and independent advice to the EuroHPC JU Steering Board, particularly in strategic research, innovation, and the development of the European ecosystem for supercomputing, quantum technologies, and artificial intelligence.
Jan Martinovič is the head of the Data Analysis and Simulations Lab at IT4Innovations. He has extensive experience leading major R&D activities in information retrieval, data processing and analysis, orchestration platforms for HPC, cloud and AI, and traffic disaster management.
As part of RIAG, he will contribute to the development of a multiannual strategic research and innovation agenda supporting integrated HPC, quantum computing, and the data ecosystem in the EU, providing advice on activities related to international cooperation, skills development, stakeholder engagement, and feedback.
