IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre is a leading research, development, and innovation center active in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Quantum Computing (QC), Data Analytics (HPDA), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ about 200 scientific, technical, and administrative staff. At present, IT4Innovations is running two supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s) and Barbora (849 TFlop/s). IT4I is part of the consortium that operates Europe's largest supercomputer, LUMI, and provides its computing capacity to scientists from EuroHPC member states. A LUMI-Q quantum computer is planned for 2024. We are looking for a

Senior researcher for Quantum Computing Laboratory 

 

Activity description:

  • development and application of quantum computing related topics,
  • publication activities of research outcomes,
  • establishment and development of the research team allocated in the Quantum Computing Laboratory,
  • independent preparation and coordination of research projects.

 

Full-time equivalent: 1,0

Type of job contract: fixed-term employment

Expected start of employment: 1. 8. 2024 or as agreed

 

We require:

  • PhD in physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or related disciplines,
  • 10 years of professional experience in a related field,
  • at least 3 years of experience of team leading,
  • strong publication track record in highly impacted journals,
  • experience in supervising MSc and PhD students,
  • active knowledge of the English language.
