Czech National competence centre in HPC and IT4Innovations invite you to the fifth and final seminar in this year’s Quantum Computing Seminar Series, this time on the topic “Grover’s Algorithm and the Schrödinger Equation.” The seminar will take place on 13 November 2025 online and on-site at the IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center in Ostrava.
This seminar introduces a quantum algorithm for estimating multiple eigenvalues of quantum Hamiltonians via singular-value minimisation, combining amplitude amplification (Grover-related) with phase estimation. We will also outline a quantum pseudospectral collocation method for the Schrödinger equation with favourable fault-tolerant scaling up to Õ(√N) for certain potentials, compared to classical O(N^2). The approach avoids unstable matrix inversion in generalised eigenvalue problems and is effective for many excited states and ill-conditioned cases, relevant to high-dimensional molecular systems.
