At its meeting on 19 December 2023, the Academic Senate of the Technical University of Ostrava approved the transformation of the Laboratory of Big Data Analysis into the Laboratory of Quantum Computing.
The laboratory's research team will focus on developing new algorithms for quantum computers and simulators, including their practical applications, quantum error correction, research in quantum technologies, communication, cryptography, optimization and machine learning. Prof. Marek Lampart is temporarily in charge of the laboratory until a new head of the laboratory is selected in the recruitment procedure.
In connection with this, the Big Data Analysis Laboratory, headed by Prof. Miroslav Vozňák, will cease to exist.
