IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Quantum Computing (QC), Data Analytics (HPDA), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ about 200 scientific, technical, and administrative staff. At present, IT4Innovations is running two supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s) and Barbora (849 TFlop/s). IT4I is part of the consortium that operates Europe's largest supercomputer, LUMI, and provides its computing capacity to scientists from EuroHPC member states. A LUMI-Q quantum computer is planned for 2024. We are establishing an Application Support Team to provide high-level support services for users of the IT4I supercomputers under the EPICURE EuroHPC project and we are looking for a

Innovation Technology Developer for the Infrastructure research lab

 

Activity description:                      

  • provide support to the selected users and their HPC applications, including:       

                     - application compilation, installation, and configuration,          

                     - optimal application execution,         

                     - application porting, optimization, and scalability improvements.       

  • compilation of parallel applications and libraries from source code for HPC clusters,        
  • verification of application functionality, optimal performance, and scalability in collaboration with application users or developers.       

                              

Full-time equivalent: full-time employment, 100%

Type of job contract: fixed-term employment

Expected start of employment: 1. 5. 2024 or as agreed

                              

We require:                       

  • university education in IT or a related field, min. required degree Bc. at the time of recruitment,
  • practice min. 1 year,      
  • experience with Linux operating systems and work in bash,        
  • knowledge of application development in C/C++, knowledge of the Fortran language is an advantage,
  • knowledge of parallel application development in MPI and OpenMP,     
  • knowledge of application development using CUDA, the advantage is OpenCL, OpenACC, or OpenMP for accelerators,  
  • knowledge and understanding of HPC applications, including their installation, configuration, and execution,        
  • ability and willingness to communicate technical information effectively to users,            
  • active knowledge of the English language.          

                              

Candidate advantage:                  

  • knowledge of auxiliary tools for compilation (EasyBuild, Spack.),              
  • experience with scientific computing applications,
