The main objective of the FLOREON+ project is to create a platform for integration and operation in the monitoring, modelling and prediction of crisis situations and in providing support for addressing such situations, mainly in the Moravian-Silesian Region. Thanks to its modular and open nature, the system that is being developed as part of this research and development project allows for a simple integration of different thematic areas, regions and data. It is mainly intended to be used at the level of support for crisis management processes, both in operational activities and simulations.

The central thematic area of the entire project is hydrology – the system mainly focuses on the real-time collection and analysis of relevant data to which prediction algorithms are applied. The output then includes information that is used for decision-making support within disaster management processes, namely by providing flow rate predictions for selected watercourses (including assessing the reliability of the predictions and comparing them with actual measurements) and predictions and visualizations of the overflow of watercourses in the landscape.
