Seznam

Seznam.cz uses Anselm supercomputer to calculate 3D models of towns and cities of the Czech Republic. The models and their textures are generated from stereoscopic aerial images employing computationally demanding algorithms. Anselm will process images of 8000km2 area which is 10% of area of Czech republic and 1.5 the area of Moravian-Silesian region where IT4Innovation is located. Project duration is expected to be more than 6 months.

The application was developed for Seznam.cz by external company. In the final stage of the development researchers from IT4Innovations have proposed a set of modifications to maximize the application performance and efficiency on Anselm supercomputer. The implementation takes advantage of both general purpose processors as well as graphic processing units for highly parallel parts of the algorithms. A full utilization of Anselm’s high performance hardware was achieved thanks to fine tuning done by IT4Innovations.
